On the Day
The day was a tremendous success of a day. Where Netball brought celebs, influencers, DJs, entertainers, Broadcasters and former England netball players together to showcase our great sport in a big bubble of fun and family! Much laughter for those celebs that tried to have a go and loads of nostalgia to see that players from yesteryear still got it going on!
The day at Netball Aid started with a Guinness World record attempt to shoot as many netball goals in an hour. The netball shooters who were nominated from across the country to take part came so close; falling 100 goals short of the 1500 tally in front of official Guinness World Record Adjudicators.
There then followed an England Men’s Netball Display match where the U23’s triumphed over the Men’s Team and then the celebrity main spectacle!
A tense match commentated on by a BBC team on a BBC Sounds Special Show and shown on BBC iPlayer. Team Pudsey’s just inched to victory, having to come back twice from being behind by the confident Bears. Well done all!
